Price and support. If you have a small business you are wasting money spending more than $10 per month on just hosting. Look around and find a cheap host with good support and add-ons for your business.
One host I recommend is Blue Host ( you can read my review at http://www.castironhostingreview.com/blu... ) with plans at $6.95. They also have 99.9% uptime. A great option!
So, for me price and support are the most important.

But something to consider that determines whether or not I stay with a particular host is uptime and speedy problem resolution from support.

Reputation - no pint having the cheapest soloution on the planet if everyone thinks the service is terrible or if system uptime is low.
I would prefer to pay more to know support is good and uptime is high and guaranteed.

I would say the web hosting company would have to be local to the country you live in, with a good network infrastructure, data centre and support network. If it’s local you will benefit from speed and local search engine positioning. Make sure you get a domain that is local to your country too, as this will also help in search engine optimisation.
