"Churn Your List for Profit"

I wasn't sure whether I wanted to title this article the way I did or call it: "Churn out Your List for Profit". It seems fitting either way since "Churn out" means: To produce in an abundant, and automatic manner.

While one meaning of "Churn" according to www.dictionary.com is: To buy and sell (a client's securities) frequently, especially in order to generate commissions.

I have found many of my prospects, and a some customers for that matter are reluctant to start thier own newsletter. Even terrified at the prospect of creating a one, because they believe it is beyond them, or they don't have a "core competency" to work from.

Or because building an "OPT-IN" list, and maintaining it seems to be too daunting a task, or they have no clue what to write about if they do decide a newsletter may be a good way to bring in new business.

I would tell them that putting out a newsletter is totally unnecessary to be profitable with a "good sized" list of say one thousand plus subscribers.

There are alternatives to churning out a newsletter every week. For example:

1. Write a weekly "Hot Tips" (just pick a topic, or subject matter you are more than average knowledge on, or expertise at, or have a motivation for doing research on, and reporting about it) along with some paid advertising to support it.

2. Provide a weekly update sheet on what is on sale at your web site, i.e. different "bundled" specials that are perceived as "High value" at low cost.

3. Quotes, or joke of the day list with paid advertising to support it, along with your own products/service ads, and affiliate links.

These are just a few good ideas that have proven to work, and I have seen done with lists containing tens of thousands of subscribers!

So what are you waiting for? The ideas for content are almost endless, and you don't have to think of it yourself, as long as you're conscious of copyright infringement.

You can even use other peoples content. If you are not sure they'll approve. Just ask them, and let them know you'll include thier "resource box" (information about them with links back to thier site, and newsletter).

Also make sure you let them know you're running a 100% "OPT-IN" newsletter, and make sure this is the case.

Once you get thier approval, go for it, and send them a copy thanking them for it.
