What We Can Learn from the Katrina DisasterIf I learned anything from the Katrina Disaster, it is this:"Don't rely on your local, State, and Federal Governments to save you or your family from a disaster." Just look at almost anything government on all levels attempts to do, or make better, and most of the time, it is done poorly, or even worse yet... not at all, and millions, if not billions of dollars are wasted in the red tape process. As an American, I finally got a serious wake up call from this latest disaster (because 911 seems like such a distant memory now), and from this point on, I'm going to make sure my family, and I are much more prepared to handle a disaster of any kind, and "build an ark" so to speak. Everybody just laughed at Noah, and you know the rest of the story as "Paul Harvey" would say... So the moral of the story, is don't get complacent, because the World isn't getting any safer, and to just do positive thinking won't cut it. I believe more prayer, and faith with positive actions are in order for today's climate. =========================================================== Harry Fassett - is a professional "list management", and database marketing specialist with over ten years experience online. Back when I was in college, I belonged to one of those professional associations for the video industry. (I was a student member.) The monthly newsletter had a column called "Writer's Block." Although called Writer's Block, no one ever wrote about this mysterious and debilitating condition. So, finally, one day I decided to tackle the subject.
