Yea right, I believe thatLet me know what you think of these statements (paraphrased to protect the not so innocent):1)"...Instant Web Master Video Set! In this step by step easy to understand video, I take you from a total beginner to capable web master in minutes..." Who is this person trying to kid? Capable webmaster? Now that's a pretty broad term isn't it? Now let's see... you don't know what the heck HTML, JavaScript, DHTML, "ColdFusion", Active Server Pages, "ODBC", and style sheets are, but you're going to be an expert on all subjects in a few minutes? Yea, right, I believe that. 2)"...You can make up to one hundred per hour from home spending as little as two hours a day using a newly discovered most advanced mouse point and click profit generating system in the world... Absolutely 100% Guaranteed for LIFE!..." Newly discovered? Most advanced? HUMMM? REALLY? Ok so I take this little mousy over here, and just point it at this little ditty, and click. Then I'm raking in up to a hundred bucks an hour? Again. REALLY? (notice the "UP TO" PART). Yea right, I believe that. 100% guaranteed? What are they guaranteeing exactly? That I can make from ZERO dollars up to $100 per hour? Now that's a pretty safe guarantee don't you think? Of course the marketing pros online know that 98% of all those who order the newly discovered marketing magic system will just "roll over", and not collect on the guarantee even if they don't make a plug nickel with it. They also know they can't really guarantee a set amount of money you'll make using their "...most advanced profit generating system...", because they can't guarantee YOUR performance. 3)"...You Can Make an Absolutely Guaranteed Minimum of $700 or More on the Net in only Seven Days or less Risk-Free..." Yea right, I believe that. Now read that paragraph again. Did you see it? The second word is "CAN" (key word). Notice they didn't say "WILL". You can, but not necessarily will make a minimum of $700 or more on the Internet in only 7 days or less... Risk free, because "again" they know 98% of you will most likely just "lick your wounds", and move on quietly if it doesn't pan out. Any way... I've been thinking about all the outrageous claims I see on the net for a while now, and really "digging into" the wording to see how they make it sound like a "no lose" offer to you. Are you starting to get the picture? I believe it would be fairly accurate to say that the five percent making "BIG" money online are using this type of sales copy all the time. Is it ethical? Borderline? Or just outright deceptive. I report, you decide. ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````` Harry Fassett - Founder of Amazines.com, is a professional "list management", and database marketing specialist with over nine years experience online. Since I do several weekly radio talk shows in San Antonio, Texas, I often find myself on the receiving end of pitches from people who want to be a guest on my programs. Most pitches from PR firms are professional and brief... something any talk show producer/host appreciates. But I got one recently from a firm--in New York City, no less--which was a great example of how NOT to pitch. After I an. . .
