The Page Stares Back!

I was sitting at my small, but user-friendly desk rewriting an article I recently composed. As I thoughtfully stared at the page I noted the page was staring back at me! I could see there were too many "I" 's in the article and the page was staring back! What was I to do?

The above paragraph contains fifty-four words. Seven of these words are " I ". Is it fair to your reader when he/she is ninty-eight percent interested in him/herself? Of course not! But how does one write an article without the numerous " I "s ?

Writing the composition in the second person is one way-ie: He was sitting at the small but user-friendly desk rewriting an article he had ....... etc.

Using other pronouns such as we, you, they, she, who, anyone, and many other words to replace "I".

Rearrange the article to contain very few, if any pronouns. When writing an article use " I " sparingly.Too many " I "s cause the article to appear as if if were staring back!

Writing without " I " s is a practiced, self consicience method of writing. One should keep practicing not using them and he will write more interesting and better articles.

The above five paragraphs contain one hundred and forty-six words and contains six " I "s, none of which are used in the first person!

I saw this on the Internet....."There is only one "I" in creative!"
