Internet Marketing; The New FrontierInternet:The following article is written by Lanard Perry. You can sign up for his newsletter at http://www. pronetmarketer.com. Internet Marketing; The New Frontier If you've spent any time on the Internet recently you probably know, at least on a subconscious level, that web based "work from home" opportunities have exploded. But you probably don't know that it surpasses 15 million choices! Specifically, at the time I wrote this article Google spat out 15,200,000 listings when I searched for "work from home" opportunities! Of course I had a general sense of how online marketing has increased in recent years, but I had no idea that it had grown so big, and so fast! But what does it mean for newbies (new marketers) try- ing to establish a niche in a seemingly overpopulated arena. Conversely, where do veteran marketers who aren't successfully established just yet, fit in such a massive and seemingly overpopulated market? The numbers might suggest that if you didn't get into the game "early" there might not be a place for newbies! And surely the early pioneers have fully mastered the marketing concepts, and in the process tapped the web for most of its riches! Well, I don't think so, and as a matter of fact think just the opposite. Sure, the early pioneers may have reaped early success by virtue of the fact they were leading the pack and they probably still are. However, each day brings a new beginning, and it's my humble opinion that there will always be room for people who think out of the box, who are willing to work hard for success, and will not accept failure as an option. And the nice thing about the Internet is that because it is so vast millions of people can realize their dreams, all at the same time, even while helping others to do the same! I liken it to the California Gold Rush! Although a lot of people became wealthy by virtue of the fact that they were the first to get there, many became wealthy much, much later. Instead of mining for gold, they prospected the prospectors. They knew that the miners would need goods and services to sustain their families, mining enterprises, and the like; so they set up shop to provide them. Common folk who provided basic services; banking, legal, food, clothes, livestock, shelter, etc made serious money. But let there be no doubt about it, they were also pioneers willing to face adversity and risk to chance realizing their dreams, too. And as the gold rush was then, millions are migrating to the Internet now, and although many people made fortunes early in the phenomenon we call online marketing, there are still many fortunes to be made. With regards to Internet businesses, wannabes may not have much to begin with, but that's okay. They also may not have formal educations, and that's okay, too. But what they must have is tenacity and smarts. Also, being creative is helpful, but above all else they must be willing to work hard for what they want. Those seeking the easy road need not apply. And just for the record, making a living on the Internet is definitely not easy. I work harder at it this than I did at my last "real" job. Nor am I making as much money as I did then .. yet! Still, everyday I jump for joy (figuratively) because I'm living my dream. I work when I want to, don't have a boss micromanaging my every move, and feel that eventually I will earn what I believe Iam truly worth! I wish you the same.
