There's been a big boom recently in free courses as a lead into a business - the best recent example of course being Moneylegs - people signup for the information and it tells them how to run the program - a pre-trained signup. http://www.moneylegs.com/cgi-bin/ptp.cgi?25709&page=share These work surprisingly well. However our stats show us a lot of these recruits never actually do anything with the info - they don't actually join the opp or if they do they remain inactive. And now recruitment is starting to slump. However people are increasingly buying info products - ebooks, ecourses, and even ordering "real" books through mail order. Sales are on the up! Also, people are joining the opportunities to sell books and info products. Perhaps people are realising these are worth the money while the ones given away free either aren't or just lead capture gimmicks for things they'll later be offered but don't really want. NetBookPublishers has always been popular but recruitment is on the up - people really do signup from TEs when they see the capture page for this: http://www.myfreebookstore.com/title/silke247 and the compensation plan is great. But we recently ran some "trials" using free classifieds and lists and that got signups as well. It seems a lot of people like to add ebooks as a second income stream! And why not? What did surprise us was someone who wanted to join SFI just to sell it's books. As an international affiliate he realised he would have problems with shipping the usual products, cleaning and wellness, and of course the telecom products, but wanted to add the books and info products to his range.
