Are you a spurt promoter?Bet you are asking yourself, what the heck is a spurt promoter.Well here goes my definition of a spurt promoter. Decides one day, I need to advertise my site. So in a rush they spend the next four or five hours promoting their site, anywhere that will accept their free ad. Then they sit back an say to themselves, boy I should get sales now. Now they forget they have a web site, and for the next few weeks, they don't bother with their site at all. They just know everything is ok, because they advertised, only a few weeks ago. Now let me tell you where I came up with this spurt thing. When I was a young Lad of about thirteen years old my Dad decided it was time for me to learn to drive, just like he had taught my three older Brother's. Once us boy's learned to drive, he put us to work. In those day's a child could drive for their father, without a License. Now back to my story. My folks (God rest their souls.) never had an automobile, when I was growing up. My father had trucks, and if my Mother and Father needed to go somewhere they took a truck. Anyway the first trip out with my Dad, I found out he was as strict about proper driving, as he was everything else. When he finally put me behind the wheel, boy I thought, this is great. Well the first thing I knew, my Dad reached over and slapped me up the side of my head. He said, you hold your foot steady on the foot feed, (what the accelerator was called back then.) He said, you are spurt driving, you need to hold your speed steady. You do not speed up and slow down, that is spurt driving. He also slapped me for other things I did wrong, with my driving, like riding along with my foot resting on the clutch pedal, but that is another story. That is how some people promote their web sites, they do it in spurts. Promoting your web site is a never ending task. If you need traffic, you must promote daily.
