The Diabetic Epidemic! Natural Cures Do Exist! The Diabetic Epidemic! Natural Cures Do Exist! © 2003 By Lena SanchezThere are two big health problems with Americans today and that is obesity and diabetes running neck and neck. Both created in an atmosphere of bad habits brought about by a society of do-everything-you-want-to-do and mostly that includes eating ourselves to death! From 1990 through 1998 alone diabetes rose a startling 70% among people in their 30's. The number increased by 40% in the 40's age group and 31% increase in 50's age group. Type II diabetes once known as adult-onset diabetes occurred in people over 40 but is now occurring in children as young as eleven or twelve and gong below that age in the near future. The recent statistics show that over 16 million Americans have it and it is becoming an epidemic largely due to the shift in our food choices. Last August, the CDC reported that diabetes jumped 33 percent nationally over all. The New England Journal of Medicine March 14, 2002;346:802-810, 854-855 I say that because the chances are great that you will develop diabetes if you are eating fast foods at least twice a week, which is clogging those arteries and creating unhealthy fat cells that create an atmosphere for diabetes… You are probably getting 20 teaspoons or more of sugar in your diet daily. The national average has gone from 10 teaspoons to 20 teaspoons per person. If you drink one 12-ounce can of soda you have consumed 9 teaspoons of sugar. Then the hidden sugars in processed foods. All this setting you up to become a diabetic! I would prefer that you eat natural whole foods and healthy diets but I know that is not going to happen so the next best thing is to make sure you are getting a nutritional supplement to help assure that you don't develop diabetes. No nothing can take the place of sensible eating but at least there is hope for normalizing your pancreas and keeping it that way with a formula of sugar blocking herbs. Signs for long-term Blood Sugar Problems are: · Lethargy · Blurred vision · Dizziness · Aching in the legs · Excessive thirst, hunger and urination · Numbness · Tingling in the legs and feet · Lack of Coordination · Breathing difficulties · Recurring infections · Inability to concentrate The risks with long-term Blood Sugar Problems are: · Sexual performance problems · Kidney damage/possible kidney failure · Eye damage/possible blindness · Ulcerating sores/possible limb amputation · Heart Attack A patient came into the clinic, where I worked, late on Friday afternoon, with flu symptoms and we sent him to the lab for normal blood work but they goofed and didn't get the lab results to us until Monday. One of the first things I always did in the mornings was to check the printer for all lab results and if any needed immediate attention I would take the lab report and patient chart to the doctor and tell him/her. When I looked at that patient's lab I immediately alerted the doctor and called the patients' home only to find that he had died on Sunday in the ER from a Blood Sugar level up to 1500+. He had felt so badly he ate only ice cream and drank 7up, both being a no no for a diabetic, which shot his blood sugars through the roof and killed him… He did not know he was a diabetic and had most likely been one for years and ignored any noticeable problem that would send him to the doctor. He was all of 29 years old. Don't let that happen to you. Diabetes is of epidemic proportion these days and even if you do not have a family history of diabetes that does not mean you will not develop diabetes! First see your doctor for blood tests and then decide the route you are going to go. Whether it to be natural or traditional. That decision should include, do you want to have diabetes or not. The right herbal treatment offers reversal of the problem, where traditional medicine has no clue that it can even be reversed! Julian Whitaker, M.D. states; "The tragedy is that the treatment of diabetes is fundamentally flawed and has not changed appreciably in 50 years. Today's entire approach to diabetes is an almost neurotic fixation on lowering the blood sugar level, either with insulin or oral drugs. Incredibly, this approach totally ignores the fact that most diabetics produce too much of their own insulin." He goes on to say, "You see, only 10% of diabetic's actually have reduced production of insulin. They're called insulin-dependent (type I) diabetics, and will likely always need insulin replacement. However, 90% of diabetics have non-insulin-dependent (type II) diabetes. Rather than an insulin deficiency, these patients produce two to three times the normal level, but the insulin doesn't work." Conventional medicine does not address these realities because it has not yet caught up to our latest understanding of diabetes as a wasting disease. You see, diabetes means having an elevated blood sugar level. Your body's instinctive reaction is to try to clear all this excess glucose from your blood. It does this by stimulating your kidneys to excrete large volumes of urine containing the glucose. And this is why thirst, excessive drinking water and frequent urination are classic symptoms of diabetes. It also triggers massive losses of the nutrients you need for health, including B1, B6 and B12, as well as the minerals in your system including magnesium, zinc and chromium. This loss of vital nutrients is perhaps the primary reason for the deterioration of the eyes, kidneys, peripheral nerves and vessels that so often occurs with diabetes. In other words, these same complications would result from any condition that causes such massive nutrient depletion. Once you realize this, you can appreciate why nutritional supplementation of your diet is the key to avoiding, minimizing and even reversing diabetes and its harmful effects. First in that repair mode is a sensible diet. No granulated sugars, sodas, candy or white flour. Second get an exercise regimen going, even if it's only a 20 minute walk to start. Then get on an herbal or traditional treatment program… Check out the list of herbs to repair the pancreas and the body go to http://www.envirodocs.com/diabetes_ingred.htm ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^ Writer Lena Sanchez a retired medical office nurse/administrator and medical office consultant has released her latest book "Handbook Of Herbs To Health & Other Secrets." Learning to remember your dreams is harder for some than for others. There are many reasons a person would want to remember their dreams, including increased self-awareness and knowledge about yourself, coming to grips with aspects of yourself, education, finding out hidden emotions, and more. Remembering your dreams is like opening the door to your own mind. However, for you it may be incredib. . .
