Writing for Publication to E-zinesWriting for Publication to E-zines As Written by Heston Nolan, Publishing Editor for Ladder2Success E-zineWould you be interested in a technique that would allow you to publish hundreds of ads online for free every month? Sure you would! It is a technique that is used everyday by thousands but is still as effective as getting the top slot in a search engine. It is simply writing articles for E-zines. There are thousands of E-zines on the Internet. Most of them will accept your article if it fits into their targeted realm. Multiply the number of E-zines you may submit your article to by the number of subscribers that read those E-zines and you get a targeted audience of literally thousands! E-zines are looking for good content to place in their E-zine. So, your first problem is to write a good content article. How? You need to start by writing about something your know well. To begin your selection of the content you wish to place in an e-zine, sit down with pen in hand and establish a mind set. Write down: What can I write about? How long of an article do I need? (Best to start with about 300-400 words). What information will I need to place in the resource box? This is enough to get the creative juices flowing. Take the first question-What can I write about? Write down a few topics that interest you. It is better if you know something about the subject you are writing about but it is not entirely necessary because you are going to research the topic you select. Pick your favorite search engine and enter your selected topic. Collect all of the free resources you can and list all of the websites that offer free information about your subject.Be sure to include in your article the website urls you used to gather your information from. From the information you have gathered compile an outline of notes about the subject. Now it is just a matter of arranging your notes in a logical manner. This will lend itself to building a comprehensive article. One method of compiling your information is to use the "Mind-mapping" technique. This technique is discussed at the website- http://www.mind-map.com/ It is a method that creates focus and associative thinking. Basically, you begin by placing the title of your subject in the center of a blank sheet of paper. From the title draw lines out from the title so your drawing resembles the spokes of a wheel. On each line write one of your notes. As you write each note also write down thoughts that occur during this procedure. One spoke of the wheel may generate dozens of ideas as you position your notes on the spoke. When you think you have generated a substantial amount of notes and sub-notes, arrange these in an outline and write your first draft. It is necessary to write and rewrite your article until it becomes a well thought out piece of literature that an E-zine Publisher will read and say to theirselves "good content"! It is suggested that you have another person read your article and give you constructive criticism. Be sure that person is not a friend that will read your article but will hesitate to hurt your feelings by offering criticism. Make it known you are writing an article that will probably be read by tens of thousands on the Internet. The criticism may be the finishing touch needed to make the aticle into a piece of fine content! A second suggestion which is very important to getting the article accepted by a Publisher: DO NOT place your personal business information in the article. If the publisher figures you are writing the article to advertise your business they normally will not accept the article. There is a place to put you personal advertisement. It is called the "resource box". It can contain a four to six line advertisement of your promotion along with your url and links. It is located at the end of your article but not part of your article. You should seperate it from the article with a line of some sort. Always let the article stand for a while, then reread it again. You may find you can add a few improvements that may turn your article from a good content article into an outstanding article. You can recognize you have an outstanding article when other Publishers write you requesting to use the article on their website or in their ezine. If you have not had the satisfaction of this happening to you, you are in for a great thrill! An eBook called 'Get Published! The Directory of Ezines that accept Article Submissions.
