Bosco Learns About e-Book Publishing

Bosco wondered what all the fuss was about e-Books. He had lots of them on his hard drive. But he never thought he would actually do one! "Who, me? An e-Book author!"

He had went to a site that had been recommended to him. He bought a membership since it was so reasonable. He went to work reading and digesting. Several days passed.

The site he was a member of suggested that writing and compiling an e-Book wasn't that hard. He already knew some HTML from setting up his own web site, so he searched around on the web for some free HTML editors. He found two:

PowerHTML http://www.designharbor.org/phtml/index.php3

Arachnophilia http://www.arachnoid.com/arachnophilia/

He found them both helpful. He had used PowerHTML before when he had built a web site with a template. Templates can be found at:

Free Site Templates http://freesitetemplates.com/

The template was easy to use. You just filled in the colored text with your own. Bosco still uses PowerHTML to make "redirect" pages for some of his programs. Redirect pages are handy when you advertise and don't want others seeing your affiliate links.

When Bosco wanted some pointers on using HTML he searched the web for "HTML tutorials" and used the easy to follow help on each site. Another great web site he found was:

http://www.cwru.edu/help/introHTML/toc.html

Arachnophilia was even easier. It has a "page setup" interface that pops up and sets the colors and titles. Buttons along the bottom of the page control other HTML commands.

After downloading and learning how to use the HTML programs mentioned above, Bosco found he could do HTML and then in turn do an e-Book.

Bosco needed some banners for his e-Book for different headings. He found a site that make awesome looking ones:

So Bosco learned some new skills and began to write his e-Book. He knew something about Internet marketing and wanted to share his knowledge of affiliate programs.

So he wrote up his information and put it into several pages in the e-Book. He used HTML code to set up and format his pages.

He found this HTML snippet that "turned the pages" of his e-Book:

Next Page

Next, Bosco needed to "compile" his e-Book. He used the compiler that came with the site he was a member of. It easily put the HTML pages and graphics together into e-Book form.

Here is some free e-Book compiler software:

So Bosco had his e-Book. He was proud as a new papa! It looked good and was a work of art, if you asked him! Now he wanted to share his creation. He could give it away free on his web site, or sell it.

He decided to offer it free. He found several web sites to promote it. He needed to look on each site for a list of places to submit it. Here is the list:

Bosco really liked to do e-Books and found out they weren't that hard to do. He knew that others could learn these skills and be successful.

If Bosco can do it, why can't you, too?
