"How To Put Spring Into Your Business: A Lesson in Proactive Renewal""How To Put Spring Into Your Business: A Lesson in Proactive Renewal"By Randy Gilbert (c)2002 It is a wonderful fact that people prosper when they understand the natural cycles of the world, learn to anticipate them, cooperate with them, and benefit by them. In nearly every cycle there is a season of renewal. Many look forward to "Spring" with great anticipation because it brings renewal. With renewal comes new life, new opportunities, and a renewed commitment to your overall objectives of happiness and abundance. Proactive Thinkers become wise to the extent that they apply the knowledge learned from one part of life to another. If you want your business to prosper, then learn it's natural cycles and especially how to welcome springtime renewal into your business. Hawaii is a place that many people view as not having seasons such as Spring. Many people flock there because of its year-round idyllic "summer" weather. However, having grown up there, I know that Hawaii has seasons that are just as colorful and diverse as anywhere else in the world. One of my favorite natural cycles was of the native fruits and nuts. Each type would have it's own season of the year for ripening, which created a wonderful variety. My family learned when and where to pick guava, banana, coconuts, breadfruit, star fruit, mangos, macadamia nuts, and a variety of others with names you might not recognize so we could have delicacies all year round. It is unfortunate that many newcomers experience "island fever" and get bored because they never learn Hawaii's seasons and how to make them a part of their lives. Similarly, many people grow tired of their business simply because they fail to recognize and prosper from its natural seasons. Proactive Thinkers adjust their wants and desires to be cooperative with natural cycles. This timing creates balance and gives you more power. The following 3 proactive tips will increase your wisdom by helping you understand how to bring springtime renewal into your business so you can benefit by it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tip 1 - Renewal Breathes New Life Into Your Business ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In business, new life is represented by creative ideas, innovative problem-solving, and growing levels and enthusiasm. What causes new life to happen? Although, each business is a little bit different, you'll find a few common elements and you can remember them by thinking of a greenhouse. New life for business is best cultivated when your mind is like fertile soil. Therefore, taking a day off to rest and recharge, and regularly eating healthy foods is necessary. Brain storming sessions are best scheduled when people are warm and friendly and their energy levels are high (i.e. during the morning for 'morning people'). When this happens the seeds of new ideas come to life like magic. Enthusiasm and the rapid growth of ideas happen when distractions are removed and there is a clean atmosphere of focus. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tip 2 - New Opportunities Are In The Winds of Change ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One of the things that renewal brings is the wind of change, which represents new opportunities. When you explore your new opportunities, you can learn how to turn them into abundance. Some people fear the natural cycles of business because they fear what change can bring. But when you learn that change can bring benefits, it will create adventure and excitement. You can overcome your fear by stepping back and looking at change from a different perspective; a bigger picture point of view. For example, I used to fear losing clients until I learned that I should regularly be pruning those clients who are least productive. I discovered that when I pruned a non-productive client, I was able to take on two or three new ones who are more productive. This type of change helped my income increase significantly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tip 3 - New Commitment to Old Goals and Objectives ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is a need to stay committed to the things that don't change, like your overall life goals and objectives. Therefore, you need a renewal of that commitment from time to time. It keeps alive those things you need to count on. Your relationships also need to experience renewal or they will weaken. Building your network of business friends and associates takes a lot of continued communication and the natural cycles of business can be great 'triggers' to do that. For example, many large retail businesses offer special discounts during holidays. This form of 'staying in touch' is a very effective form of marketing that you can use too. Remember, these 3 proactive tips bring springtime renewal into your business through new life, new opportunities, and new commitment. When you do, your business will prosper and grow. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Randy (Dr. Proactive) Gilbert, is a motivational speaker and author of "SUCCESS BOUND" - http://www.Success-Bound.com He is also a success coach who helps people double their wealth and happiness by discovering the Power of Proactive Thinking" http://www.DrProactive.com/proactive_thinking_secret/ Copyright 2002 Randy Gilbert.
