Proactive Systems Thinking Works To Achieve Dreams and Goals"Proactive Systems Thinking Works To Achieve Dreams and Goals"By Randy Gilbert (c)2002 I love the curiosity of preschoolers. Daddy, why does the dog drink with its tongue? Why do flowers have different colors? Why is it dark at night? Why is my hair blonde and hers is black? Why do you paint a house? And on and on they go. We are born wanting to know about things. When you take the time to figure out 'why' things happen, then you can discover the systems that make things work and then use them to create a better world. Successful people proactively use systems to help them achieve their dreams and goals. Being proactive has five essential elements: future thinking, positive thinking, intelligent thinking, systems thinking, and spiritual thinking. The people who practice all five are those who become the experts and enjoy true success and abundance. 'Systems thinking' is the ability to understand how things methodically work together in a procedure or process. It also includes how laws, rules, and principals interrelate and govern our world. Thomas Edison was a systems thinker. He was a strong believer in using systems in all of his work and experiments. He knew that all of nature followed systems, even if he couldn't understand their fine details. He approached each problem methodically, knowing that if he systematically explored each alternative, he would eventually find the best solution. Mr. Edison also used systems thinking to become a business genius. He systematized and automated everything he could. Many of his ideas for inventions were sparked by his own needs. For example, the Dictaphone saved hundreds of hours for business managers and increased America's productivity by huge margins. Practice systems thinking and you too will enjoy success and abundance. Here are three proactive tips to help you learn system thinking, so you will achieve your dreams and goals. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tip 1 - Learn How To Use Systems For Your Benefit ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Everything you see around you follows systems. The more you study systems, the more it will become clear that the proper use of systems is what leads to a happy and abundant lifestyle. For example, the system of earning more has always followed the pattern of improving the quality and quantity of the service you provide, rendered with a positive attitude. If you follow this system you will earn more - guaranteed! If you don't, any increase in pay will be short lived. Another example, it's a curious fact that our minds find a way to transform what you think about most of the time into physical reality. When you are a happy, positive person, you will systematically attract good and positive things into your life. Success is not a matter of luck; it is preparing yourself to meet opportunity. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tip 2 - Learn How To Systematically Form 'Good' Habits ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ All animals live by the habits given to them by instinct, which is why young squirrels, who have never seen a winter, begin gathering a store of nuts in the fall. As humans we are different, because many of our habits can be controlled by our conscious minds since we have the ability to choose. You can decide on which habits you are to follow, so you can set up 'good' habits for your benefit. For example, you can choose to develop the 'good' habit of eating certain foods that will keep you healthier. First, set up a system of buying and preparing healthy foods, and then reward yourself with positive thoughts for "eating better." It takes mental effort at first, but soon it becomes a new habit that pays huge dividends of a healthier and happier lifestyle. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tip 3 - Set Up Systems That Pay You Back Forever ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When you automate systems you free up more of your time and energy to do other more important things. Invest your creativity into developing solutions and mechanisms that give you a perpetual payback and you create an asset. Systems become your assistants and they often work for free! For example, writing a book takes a large amount of creativity and time, but once written, it becomes an asset and your communication assistant. It even becomes a legacy that continues communicating to others when you're gone. Here are more examples. Organize things so you know where they are and won't waste your time locating them. Use automatic features on machines to do routine tasks, such as computer address books, self-dialers, email filters, and auto-responders. Remember, proactively practice systems thinking by recognizing their benefit, forming 'good' habits, and automating as much as possible. When you follow systems that work, you will achieve your dreams and goals. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Randy (Dr. Proactive) Gilbert, is a motivational speaker and author of "SUCCESS BOUND" - http://www.Success-Bound.com He also teaches a powerful e-class "PROACTIVE THINKING SECRET: How You Can DOUBLE Your Wealth And Happiness In ONLY Ten Weeks" http://www.DrProactive.com/proactive_thinking_secret/ Copyright 2002 Randy Gilbert.
