Are You Smudging Your Nails? Are You Smudging Your Nails? My wife has a problem. Whenever she paints her nails, she does all the hard work of preparing her nails (diligently!), of applying the nail-polish (carefully!), of waiting for them to dry (patiently!). . . and that's where the wheels fall off! Ever the woman of action, she cannot hold out the necessary 5-6 minutes it takes for the nail-polish to dry thoroughly, but moves back into action just too soon, and -- Smudged Nails! This has been going on for as long as I've known her - 19 years!
And I'm not very different . . No, I do NOT paint my nails
I'm referring to doing all the right things in my business . . . and giving up just before the finish line.
I move on to the next race . . and the next one . . and the next one . .
all the time, wondering what I'm doing wrong that I'm not as successful as the others whom I am emulating!
The secret is, once you have done all that you can, all that you have to do, to hang in there until you cross the finish line.
In 1954, Florence Chadwick set out from the Isle of Catalina (off the Californian coast) - no woman had ever swum from there to the mainland.
It was bitterly cold, but worse than that was the thick fog that made it difficult for those in the boat that accompanied her to see her in the water ahead of them.
Eventually, she just could not go any further, and asked them to pull her into the boat. With a blanket around her shivering frame and some hot coffee warming her chilled bones, she started feeling better.
Until . . . the fog lifted, and there, barely 400 yards away, lay the Californian coast.
She broke down, and wept bitterly.
So near, and yet so far!
As she said, "If only I had been able to see the coast, I would never have given up!"
And that's what happens to us.
But why do I find it so difficult to hang in there until I reach the Finish Line?
Because I keep losing focus, losing sight of the End-Goal.
One of the reasons is that I have too many goals, too many things that I'm trying/wanting to do.
The very strength of the Internet - exciting opportunities, free eBooks, countless gurus wanting to help you - actually can become too much for us.
We can easily be overwhelmed by offers, swamped by "specials", exhausted by emails!
It is imperative that we don't try to do too much all at the same time.
For some of us it's easier than others.
Some are better organised than others.
The rest of us less fortunate mortals have to work hard to do what comes to them naturally.
But it is possible - just very, *very*, VERY difficult!
We have to choose just 2 or 3 goals to achieve in each week.
And then do everything we can to achieve just those.
Write down the goals you have set for the next week, and then flesh out the details -
of exactly what you want to achieve . . .
of how you are going to achieve them . . .
Get the picture - the Big Picture - clear in your mind.
And then put the list somewhere where you will see it every day - several times a day.
Keep the vision fresh in your mind - that's all focus is.

Is Your Internet Business Ready for Holiday Shoppers? Okay, I confess: I can be a terrible procrastinator when it comes to shopping for the holidays. I don't much like fighting my way through crowded shopping malls. So, instead, I'm ready - even willing - to surf the web looking for the perfect gift. And I'm not the only one. According to one article from Internet.com, experienced web buyers found online shopping more satisfactory than tr. . .
