Crystal Basics

Crystals have been used for centuries to enhance psychic ability. Just as metal is a conductor of heat, crystals are conductors of psychic energies. You can wear them in medicine bags and jewelry, hold them in your hand, or place them on your cards to clear them between readings. I have even gazed into them for clairvoyant visions. They are excellent focusing tools and beautiful to look at.

The right crystals can help make psychic and spiritual work much easier. But there are so many crystals to choose from that it can get overwhelming trying to decide which ones to use. Below are some of my personal favorites along with some basic information about their psychic properties:

Amethyst - energizes, activates third eye and crown chakras, improves communication and meditation, stimulates lucid dreaming

Angelite - facilitates communication with angels and spirit guides, aids astral projection

Aventurine - stimulates heart chakra, purifies etheric body, assists in connecting with spirit guides, aids manifestation

Bloodstone - assists movement of Kundalini, stimulates root and heart chakras, helps with grounding, calms and relaxes, attracts wealth

Clear Quartz - amplifies, purifies and focuses energy, best for cleansing and clearing

Fluorite - balances intuition with reason, strengthens connection with the Universe, facilitates communication with guides

Hematite - energizes, heightens concentration, increases courage, great for grounding and psychic protection

Lapis - clears blocks, assists in releasing and letting go, repels negative energies, opens third eye, illuminates higher self, aids astral travel

Moonstone - balances and harmonizes, stimulates sacral, third eye and crown chakras, brings inner peace, facilitates communication with spirit guides, great for empathic work

Moss Agate - grounds, balances energies, calms and relaxes, heals, heightens attunement with nature

Smoky Quartz - good for grounding, centering and meditation, intensifies lucid dreaming and improves dream recall, stimulates Kundalini

You can clear your crystals by rubbing them with sea salt or essential oil. The best oils for this are lemon, lavender and juniper. Never use soap or detergents on your crystals. You can charge them with Reiki or by placing them where they can absorb sunlight or moonlight. Take good care of your crystals and they will be invaluable helpers to you as you travel your spiritual path.
