Now, I'm the first to say, yes, it is a challenge and a struggle. Some days. Even most days sometimes. But once I read what someone else had written about MY life, I took a little offence. It's okay for ME to say my life is a struggle and a challenge, but I don't want anyone else to tell me it is! Because those two words do not accurately describe my life. There is much more to my life than struggle and challenge. There is tremendous joy. There is laughter. There are tears - sometimes mine, but usually hers, when she doesn't get what she wants. Yes, there are challenging moments. There are power struggles. But I think we need to give ourselves a little more credit for doing the incredible job we do. Imagine if we stopped calling it a struggle? Do you think perhaps we'd feel less like struggling? And if we stopped calling it a challenge (I know, it still is, but...) do you think perhaps we just might not 'feel' so challenged all the time? My thoughts return to the Universal Law of Attraction. That which we focus our thoughts on, becomes our reality. When we use words like struggle and challenge to describe our motherhood, our lives, a certain energy vibration is associated with those words. An energy of hardship and lack. With the Universal Law of Attraction, this energy frequency attracts more of the same and our reality becomes ... yep! more struggle and challenge, more hardship and lack. The great news is, we have the power to change that energy vibration we are associating with, simply by changing our choice of words. Imagine saying "My life is full of joy and peaceful feelings" versus "My life is a struggle and a challenge". How would you prefer to feel, knowing what you say will attract more of the same energy? It's all up to us! *********************************************** Article by Sue Dyson, publisher of SuccessfulMama Ezine, dedicated to empowering women in the creation and pursuit of their personal goals.
